Our  web shop is now closed for 2012, but will open again on Saturday 19 January 2013.

Many thanks to all our customers this year, for all their many and varied orders - don't forget to check the web shop again next January, when our thoughts will be turning towards Valentine's Day on Thursday 14 February!

About Us Page

We've updated a photo on our web shop About Us page, to show how the shop is looking ready for the Christmas 2012 season.  Over the next few weeks, the products will change as they sell out and will be replaced by other goodies to enjoy.

We've also added the last date for orders from the web shop to the front page of the web site.  Please don't leave it too late to place your orders, as after the web shop closes in December, it won't be open again until late January 2013.

Winter Opening Times

Well, summer is well and truly over now, so it's on to our winter opening times in our Broad Street bricks and mortar shop in Seaford.

We'll be open from

9am-5pm, Monday to Saturday

and there will be extra days in December too.

Over the next couple of weeks the shop displays will be changing, as new stock comes in on a daily basis in the run up to Christmas.  Looking at the Christmas Clock this evening it reminds me that there are only 57 days to Christmas!   What horrifying short amount of days will it say when you look at it?



   

Another Film Spot Screening . . .

The year round touring celebration of cinema, that is Filmspot, arrives once again at Newhaven Fort on Saturday 3 November at 3:00pm

Extra Chocolates In Our Range

A few new chocolates have arrived in the shop this week, Cognac, Amaretto and Chili truffles have joined the assortment in our loose chocolate cabinets and having taste tested them, we can say that they are rather scrumptious!  Which one will be your favourite?

Autumn Is Coming

The weather's just that little bit cooler now, we've had quite a bit of rain and so our thoughts now turn to Autumn.  We're changing the shop around and the window too, so here's a sneak peek at part of our front window.

Another Delivery Of Chocolates

Last Thursday we had another delivery of Belgian chocolates from Valentino Chocolatier.  They come to us on a temperature controlled truck, that delivers other temperature sensitive products too.  As usual it made slow, but certain progress along Broad Street to reach us with the tasty cargo.

The delivery to us was the last one of the day for the driver.  That evening he was heading off back to Europe via Eurotunnel.

Film Spot Presents . . .

. . . Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory (1971 Version)

Coming to Newhaven later this month is a screening of the older version starring Gene Wilder.  It's organised by Filmspot, a year round touring celebration of cinema.

The screening is at Newhaven Fort, Fort Road, Newhaven BN9 9DS on Sunday 26 August at 2:00pm

Tickets are £6 (Adults) and £4 (children) (Wonka themed treat included!)

Favourite For Father's Day Was . . . . .

At Sweet Moments, we stock several types.  In our loose chocolate cabinets we have an almond marzipan and a pistachio one too.  We also have Niederegger loaves in two sizes and another marzipan loaf from Euromas and finally, we have four varieties of the ever popular Anthon Berg marzipan, fruit and alcohol discs. 

Father's Day

Father's Day is almost here, this year it is on Sunday 17 June.  The most popular confectionery seems to be chocolate covered brazils, chocolate ginger and liqueurs.  But there are many other things too . . . how about a slice of our Italian nougat?  Or maybe some Dutch liquorice?  Or even some classic marzipan?  There are many options available.

Dieppe Comes To Newhaven

Early next month traders from Dieppe arrive in Newhaven to join in and celebrate the Fish Festival.  One of the main stalls will be taken by L'épicier Olivier who will bring amazing cheeses and cider, to name just two products.  When in Dieppe a visit to their store is a must!  Fantastic products, helpful and knowledgeable staff.  They're on Rue Saint-Jacques at number 16, (near to the main church).

Our shop in Seaford's Broad Street has begun summer opening hours earlier this year, 

from today until mid September, 

it will be open 9:30am until 4:30pm

Fancy A Change From Chocolate . . . ?

. . . . why not try some of our nougat?  At Sweet Moments we have quite a few different types, there's soft Italian nougat from Quaranta and Rivoltini also Belgian nougat from Vital and Côte d'Or. 

Within our Italian range we have 100g bars in many flavours, including coffee and lemon, as well as slices of 190-220g in wild cherry and extra walnuts.  From Belgium we have the 100g bars in the classic flavours of extra fruit or extra nuts.  A firm favourite amongst our retail and our web shop customers is the Côte d'Or Nougatti bar, it's a firmer, chewier nougat covered in a thin layer of chocolate.

Whichever one you choose, you can be sure of enjoying the nutty and sweet combination of tastes.
